Celebrating million-workflow scale was the clearest symbol of a record-breaking year inside Process Street, and the milestones went well beyond one number. By the end of 2021, customers had created more than one million workflows on the platform.
That represented one million ways teams were helping us make recurring work fun, fast, and faultless. Process Street’s 2021 highlights also included product launches, a first user conference, new customer stories, a growing community, and the return of carefully coordinated team gatherings.
A new product in the Process Street family: Pages

In 2021, we launched Pages as a free knowledge base for teams. The idea came from a recurring process-improvement problem: before people can run consistent workflows, they need a reliable place to write down and centralize company knowledge. The Pages announcement marked our first direct answer to that earlier stage of the work.
Today, that knowledge-and-execution model lives in one Process Street product. Docs gives teams a governed place for procedures and operational knowledge. Ops turns those procedures into automated, auditable workflows. Built-in AI helps teams build, run, monitor, and improve the work while people remain accountable for decisions and outcomes. The current Pages documentation explains how the original capability works inside the platform.
Our first batch of native integrations, Automations
By 2021, teams were already connecting Process Street with thousands of apps through Zapier. We wanted common integrations to sit closer to the workflow itself, so we launched our first native Automations. The release connected workflow activity and data with the tools customers used every day.
The 2021 product demo shows what Automations made possible at launch. The first batch included connections for Salesforce, Jira, Slack, DocuSign, and Google Sheets, plus functionality within Process Street itself. Zapier remained part of the integration story.
That foundation has expanded. Process Street now has direct, universal integrations to 5,000+ systems. Need a new one? An AI agent builds it on the fly. The result is a workflow automation tool that can connect governed work to the rest of a company’s stack without losing ownership, approvals, or audit evidence.
Bringing the workflows to you, with Slack app

Process Street was a daily Slack user, and many customers were too. In 2021, we launched the Process Street Slack app so people could complete assigned tasks and follow workflow activity without breaking the flow of team communication.
More power and more features, launching Process Street 3.0

January 2021 brought Process Street 3.0. The launch introduced Approvals, stop tasks, conditional logic, task permissions, role assignments, dynamic due dates, and more. Those controls made workflows more adaptable while keeping responsibilities and decision points explicit.
The release also changed what teams could standardize. A workflow could respond to different answers, route sensitive decisions for approval, assign work by role, and calculate deadlines from the moment a run began. That combination helped customers move beyond static checklists while retaining the clarity that made checklists useful in the first place.
Our first user conference was Highway

Customers, friends, and fans joined us for our first virtual user conference, Highway, in September 2021. Presentations included Wade Foster, CEO of Zapier, and Rich Wong, General Partner at Accel, alongside Process Street experts sharing practical advice.
The event gave our community a place to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and put faces to the people behind the workflows. We remain grateful to everyone who participated.
From Templates and Checklists to Workflows

Customers also saw a major terminology change. What had been called Templates and Checklists became Workflows and Workflow Runs.
We never outgrew the checklist as an idea. It still shapes our product philosophy. But Process Street had become a workflow engine capable of much more than a simple checklist, so the new names better described what teams were building and running. We were grateful to every customer who came through that change with us.
Ready to master every process? Check out our new podcast, Masters of Process.

In 2021, we partnered with No Code Ops to launch Masters of Process. The podcast explored the no-code revolution through conversations with innovators who were changing how modern businesses operate. The first episode remains a useful snapshot of that moment.
Bringing aboard new customers
By the end of 2021, more than 3,000 customers were using Process Street across more than 1,000 use cases. That ranged from onboarding at some of the largest companies in technology to the daily operations of small businesses and solo teams. The breadth of the customer community was one of the year’s strongest signals.
These stories and videos captured a few of the ways customers were using Process Street:

Welcoming the Workflow Wizards
The Process Street community took an important step forward in 2021 with the Workflow Wizards program. Power users had accumulated valuable knowledge about designing and improving workflows, and the program created a way to recognize that expertise and help community members learn from one another.
Getting together with our team

After more than a year apart, teammates began meeting again through small, carefully coordinated retreats. From San Francisco to New York to Barcelona, people had a chance to see one another face to face, sometimes for the first time and often from behind a mask.

Those gatherings mattered because Process Street was already a distributed company. A few days together helped remote teammates build the trust and shared context that make day-to-day collaboration easier across time zones.
Adding new faces to the team (by the way: we’re hiring!)
We hired more colleagues in 2021 than in any previous year. By year-end, the Process Street team was more than 60 strong, with people across four continents.
The platform and the team have continued to grow, but the operating idea is consistent: bring governed knowledge, repeatable execution, and built-in intelligence into one place. To help build what comes next, visit the Process Street careers page.
